Gelatin Hut
Location: Cankarstraße 13-17, 1220 Vienna
Gelatin Hut is cast in concrete from four molds made on-site, dug out of clay. These molds, one for each of the four walls, are pressed, hugged, and engraved by Gelatin alongside the residents of "Assemblage Niklas Eslarn" and their neighbors.
The Gelatin Hut bears the traces of the makers and their dialogue on its concrete surface. Initially, the hut will be a non-place, but it can become a space where people gather, chat, eat together, or lie daydreaming in the grass. The hut can evolve into a place for storytelling, reflecting on experiences, life, and everything that is yet to come. It has four walls, and when you’re inside, you can see the sky.
The hut is a sculpture, but it can also become a fetish.
